Krista's Skirt---New Project

So I finished Krista's pleated skirt. Too many pleats for my liking but it came out totally cute. Hopefully she'll wear it tomorrow for an action shot.

I went to knitting group last thurs. and Jess gave me the pattern for this cute baby afghan. I'm actually going to use the yarn leftovers that I have...which is perfect for this blanket. Here are some pictures:

Krista's top/dress is finished

I just cast on last Thursday and finished on Saturday. I used Lion Brand Pound of Love in pink because she wanted a pink top with no bow (which I think is cute, but ok). I used part of a cap sleeve top pattern and just increased to make it a dress like top.

Anna liked it so much she wanted one too, so I just cast on 120 stitches and it's going to fit. I'm now onto the bottom part of the top, so it will probably take me about a week to finish...I hope at least. Now onto th
e pics.

Hat and Scarf WIP

Well, Allie has been bugging me for a hat, so I was able to knit one in a day. She then requested a scarf to match, but I didn't have enough yarn, so she's getting a two toned one. She LOVES it! I'll get pics soon.

Tomorrow I have my faith sharing group in the morning and then off to school for a Reading Beach Party for my 3rd grader. If you visit my other blog www.bipolarventures.blogspot.com you'll get a little background as to why I'm apprehensive about going. A friendship has ended and her son and my daughter are in the same class. This most likely will be the first time we face each other, that is if she goes.

As for my knitting...I need to get some pink yarn and make Krista another top just like the one in the post below. She loves the top, but hates the color, so she requested one in pink. Once I get some extra cash, I'll get some wool-ease at AC Moore to knit her top.

I belong to a local knitting group the 2nd wednesday of every month at our local library. Hopefully I'll get to go this month. Two months ago the library was closed for renovations and last month we had a snow storm. We'll see what this month holds.

I also go to a friend's house on Thursdays for knitting. I haven't been there since before Christmas because I was so sick, so hopefully I can start that back up this week. I miss my knitting buddies!

FO: Krista's shirt

Record timing...I cast on the other day and finished completely this morning. I made a top for Krista, with an empire waist. I did eyelets and then made an i-cord and tied it into a bow. I used Vanna's Choice (I need a washable yarn for her tops) in Taupe. It came out really cute, the picture doesn't do it justice. I will have action shots once I put it on her.

Allie's shirt

Well, here is Allie's shirt. I finished knitting it last night, but weaved in the ends this morning. I need to make one for Krista. I was able to get out into the shed this morning to fetch some yarn...quickly because it's raining...but oh well.

Finally some knitting going on

I'm finally knitting again. It's been a long first trimester, staying in bed, really sick and tired. It's nice to be up and going again. So, I started working on a shirt for Allie. I'm using Lion Brand Homespun in a pinky/coral color. It's coming out really nice. I'll have pics soon. I've also been busy listing stuff on ebay every night, so I get a little knitting done here and there during the day.

I need some knitspiration. I have no idea what to knit next...not to mention 95% of my yarn is outside in the shed, and we've had major blizzards and snow since November, so I haven't been able to access any of it. Talk about frustrating! The snow is finally melting (thanks rain!), but we are due for more snow this week, so any hope of getting my yarn out of the shed is lost, for now anyway.

That's about all...if anyone has any links to cool stuff to knit, please let me know!

Some tops

So here are a couple of tops I'm working on. The offwhite one, well, I ran out of yarn. I was using boucle, which I abhor, so this is what the top is going to loko like. I'll give it to my girls for their dolls. The other is the beginning of a top of Alaina. It's made out of hand dyed organic merino...I made the longies out of this yarn and decided to make a top with the rest. It's coming out super cute, although I had to dye more pink yarn LOL. I hope these two projects are not foretelling the rest of the knitting year...MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH YARN TO FINISH PROJECTS LOL
